Just to be fair, the rains are definitely causing flooding in poorly drained or low lying even as far north as Raleigh. Doesnt just have to be rivers not over flowing. Just saying.

Crawling at 3mph with bands regenerating off the ocean we can expect scenes like this in many areas.

Very true, so I will rephrase: Storm surge has not been nearly as horrific as they were predicting. The OBX are still there.

5 days ago, NHC Advisory #40 had landfall within 2 miles of where it actually was. Impressive....however, without cherry picking the closest advisory he did reply to this tweet...

"for advisories 40-60.

53% were within 5 mi
76% were within 25 mi
90% were within 50 mi"

And what is so pathetically WRONG about this?

He's leaning the WRONG WAY. Look at the plants under the sign.

He doesn't even know enough to know which way to lean.

I am not saying that the guy is not hamming it up; but so what? He is out there in the storm while you're playing armchair quarterback! It is even possible that he was standing where the buildings channeled the wind or the two people on the street were sheltered - so what. They have a message to give and many would have died if they simply listened to you!

Calm down.

Do you condone the news making stuff up?

That is exactly what he is doing. It's wrong. It contributes to people's misunderstanding of what hurricanes can do.

The massive power outages are due to .. . wind? Just curious. During Harvey there were very few power outages and it was a huge widespread flooding event.

Some one else posted about being without power for 48 hours. We had that with Ike. Farther into the city of Houston some went without power for 12 weeks.
