My house was totally destroyed in Ike. I have Windstorm (tWIA), Flood (NFIP) and homeowner's (ANPAC) insurance.

How can I get the maximum available from all 3? If Flood pays 100% of their policy, is there anything available from Windstorm? Would anything be covered under homeowner's?

I am asking because Flood under-insures you. I cannot rebuild my home or replace contents with the Flood limits (I had the maximum).

I lost my home in Charlie and fought the insurance company for a year. In one way I was lucky none of the damage was caused by rising water.
Your windstorm provider will not pay anything if the damage was caused by rising water.
You will need to provide proof that the damage was caused by wind and rain.

Oh my goodness....I'm so sorry for your loss!

I think FLBob gave you the best advice possible. So many people misunderstand their flood insurance or neglect to get it in the first place. I'm so glad to hear you are well insured and will be able to move on with your life. Good luck in your rebuilding.

Your proably going to get a check from all three on their portion of the damage. If you had flooding that will be the biggest check by far. Your goihng to be glad you had flood insurnace if so.
