So in the market for a minivan. Although I don't need it now with one kid, I am not a frequent car shopper.

We were considering the 2016 Odyssey (I know 2017 when it comes out is a major change..) VS 2016/2017 Sienna.

Sienna:
- didn't like the 2 & 3rd row seat comfort in the Sienna (8 seater, SE premium). This was a deal breaker.
- Seat mechanism were more difficult to operate.
- Despite driving the SE, I noticed that it does have more body roll compared to the Odyssey. (Rear suspension is not independent if I recall on sienna)

Odyssey handling felt much better.
- but I am wary of quality issues with it's tyranny/VCM etc.
- Even when test-drive a new one, the brakes grunt when letting go from a stop.
- Dealers dont' seem to budge much on price compared to Toyota. Don't want to include roofrails, mudguards etc as freebies .

Thoughts/pointers?

[Dang, posted in the wrong brand forum. If the moderators can move it out.]

Odyssey over a Sienna would be my choice if given the two. But open the market up and I'd take a Pacifica any day of the week over the rest. Chrysler really hit it out of the park on that one.

Why not consider, or at least test drive the KIA Sedona?

I purchased a used Hyundai Entourage LTD (Kia's sister no longer manufactured) to leave in Florida over the summer and cannot begin to tell you how that vehicle has outperformed it's Honda / Toyota counterparts in reliability and overall maintenance and performance used to ferry four adults and their golf clubs to various courses all over central Florida.

Resale would be the only reason why i'd avoid the Sedona.

Otherwise, it's a great vehicle. I'd buy it used though.
