I was driving on the highway yesterday in traffic so wasn't going too fast (20km/hr). All of a sudden, the car shut off - the steering wheel got locked, the check battery and oil lights came on. I pulled over, restarted and the car was up and running again.

It's a 2010 with 177000 KMS on it.

I took it to my mechanic who said that they need to take the entire engine apart to clean some flaps that allow air in. He said that there are 3 of them. He said it's about 12 hours work but I find that hard to believe.

Anyone may have an idea of what's going on or similar experience?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry that happen. We have a 2013 SantaFe Sport AWD,it has the big 4 in it and we have never had a problem.I admit we only have about 47,5000 on the car though. Is your mechanic a Hyundai mechanic?
