Drove by at 4:20pm yesterday and there were altleast 14 cars in line at the drive-thru. Decided to try again later. Came through for lunch around 11:15 am today. Great service, quick, and the food was good. Not the best Chic-fil-A I've ever had, but decent. I'm sure they will work out the kinks.

BTW, TGIF, just up the street has announced their closing. Probably not related to Chick-fil-A, but interesting timing. I think a real trend that is becoming evident is lower cost drive-thru, counter service stores are the future. Sit-down, waiter-driven franchises may have some trouble in coming years. I think we will see more of this in the next few years.

And don't forget we are getting a new Carl's Jr. in the next couple months. Restaurant marketing is changing in Idaho Falls, and the ones that will succeed will see and understand the trends.

Another traffic update...never mind icy roads, again a 15 car backup at the drive-thru at about 6:05pm today! I knew they would do well here. What a good business decision to expand into Idaho.

I would imagine that is why we don't see Nate on here, he's one busy man. I drove past one day and the drive up was so backed up it appeared they had someone outside taking orders!

Yes, that would be correct! We have people outside taking orders to help with the flow of traffic in our drive through! Our trainers have slowly been leaving town, so our learning curve is huge right now. We are trying to get everyone trained and trying to develop some leadership. We would like to thank everyone for trying us out and hope that we have got everyone hooked on our chicken and customer service. Let me know if there is anything I can do for anyone. Nate

OK, more than a half-year later, IF's Chick-fil-a is still doing great business, atleast from what I can see from the long drive-thru lines. I would expect a Pocatello location at some point.

A year after the last post, and CFA appears to still be doing quite well. As a former Southerner, it was great seeing a CFA in town when I moved here

Yes, but the lines seem shorter than during the opening months. I guess that is normal as new consumers check it out. I'm surprised a Pocatello location has not popped up, as it would make distribution much easier.

I'm not certain, pw72, how come you expect one in Poky before a second in I F/ Ammon. Granted, I have not read their specific Frainchising info so it may not be as restrictive as some of the other big companies. Then again, it could be more.

Just curious what you think an "average" drive-thru meal costs in Idaho Falls and Poky? That's an opening question to everyone.

I don't know the answer but guess 8B is more and why 3 Carl's Jrs. seem to be doing well too.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to ask here.......
I think demographics are different.

I don't know what the average drive-thru ticket is I.F. either. My educated guess would be around 5-6 dollars.

My point is when Five Guys moved into Idaho Falls, they twined it with a new outlet in Poky. This seems business sensible.

California original "In n Out" seems to be the next guessing game. They have expanded into Utah and Texas. How likely is Idaho as the next location? Their distribution system seems coherent with Southern Idaho.
