Wow. Tons of activity on Utah south of Broadway! I also noticed the townhouse development across the highway is underway and construction looks to start soon on the shopping center on Broadway next to Pizza Hut...And that's just a small chunk of all the projects.

I believe 1650 is just west of Woodruff behind Alphagraphics. Separate development if it is.

I learned over the weekend that Gandolfo's Deli is up for sale and the owners are hard pressed as wanting to move to other adventures in life. That said I'm not clear as to whether they're trying to sell the franchise and hope it remains open or????

Construction date for Idaho Falls Event Center up in air - East Idaho News

Once again, the media has come up with nothing on this. Every few months they announce that the mythical events center is coming but we don't know when yet. It's been that way for several years.

I hope they dont try to pass a bond for this. Thats just to say that groundbreaking likely will not be until 2018 at the soonest.

It would be a shame to lose the only authentic New York hot dog and pastrami place in town.
You can't get anything close to Gandalfo's anywhere else in town that i am aware of.

As far as I can tell, Gandolfo's only has the one store in Idaho, that being the aforementioned. In fact, they are pretty spotty location-wise with most of their stores in Utah.

Idaho Falls receives grant to begin planning downtown development - KIFI

Sounds like the city wants to do some more redevelopment downtown. I personally hope it will end up containing some height and/or density.

I think that area has the potential to contain density. Probably more so than north of Broadway

That's an interesting little shuffle in downtown businesses. Thomas development is taking in a tenant that was probably their interested one in their Bonneville proposal. Pachanga's was becoming a staple in the area. In short enough order, there will be several new and interesting dining and shopping options downtown.
