I can't wait to see what the Hitt/Sunnyside intersection looks like in a few years. That is some primo real estate

Know what I'd like to see in Ammon? A nice steakhouse (or some other sort of middle-to-upper scale restaurant). Do any of you longtime residents think there would be a market for that?

Texas Roadhouse has done extremely well so yes there's a market.

Well, I meant a special occasions type of place (something above $11.95 a plate and without peanut shells on the floor). Something on par with Stockmans, or even a slight step up from Stockmans.

would there be a market for a 2 steak, 2 salad, 1 bottle of wine, 1 dessert = $100/couple type of restaurant on the Ammon side of town?

You mean like a Houston or something? Houston in Miami is what I first thought of when I read your first post.

I'm going to say NO for Ammon; Yes for the right spot in Idaho Falls. However, whatever restaurant to enter the market they will be competing with the well known Jakes and Sandpiper. They would have to offer something unique and different. I'd think SRL with a River View. And easy access from Poky, Rexburg and Jackson.

The dinner you suggest fits for a couple going out without kids or business dinners etc. I don't think one can discount the business from Travelers and INL. Besides, if it is a night out, why stay in Ammon? That being said, The Cellar has done well. So maybe the "homes on Ammon hills" have residents who would rather be closer to home.

Default Nu Scale Nuclear in 2023

Another reason I think the west side will grow.
1,000 new jobs when it opens. I wonder how many jobs to build?

Default 17 Sq. Ft. Accommodates 900 - Melalueca ' s New Event Center

Melaleuca ' s construction is progressing. A lot of interesting facilities in Phase I of Melalueca ' s construction.

I'm interested in the video studios. Will they be strictly for brand advertising and Melaleuca meetings? Or will they compete with existing businesses?

The 17 K sq. ft. Event Center, which will accommodate 900 people, is also interesting to me. The Events Center will be available to other corporations to use.

Here is a refresher if you've forgotten what will open in 2014.

What do you think?

Default Bellin road

Did anyone read, see or hear what happened with the Bellin Road annexation? I haven't had the time to search. There must have been 75- -100 letters from residents.

Thanks

Don't quote me, but Costco will be the new occupant at Sunnyside and Hitt. I have some inside info on this, but if I am wrong, then I am wrong. So plz understand this could be wrong. However, I believe it to be right. How is that for hedging my bets?

This site is still being adevertised as "available". So a final deal may not be there quite yet, but I believe a final deal is close. Now, how to access the property? New turn lanes will be needed, and IF will be the domain. So, we will see how they handle this new major retailer.

SEC or SWC of Hitt and Sunnyside, pw72? If I.F. has road jurisdiction wouldn't that have to be west of Hitt?

As for hedging your bets....I should probably pass . I know, you could probably say Ditto for me.

I saw a fascinating way to get traffic easily to and from a Costco. Good engineering could make the same thing work and not disrupt E. Sunnyside traffic flow that much.

Please tell more when you can and I'll check all my sources too.
