I knew it. I'm allergic to smoke and I could smell it Friday night. Let's hope we don't get many lightening strikes/fires like these.

I bet that explains why my allergies were on full fledged warfare on Saturday when I was down at the fairgrounds in 4B

Thumbs up Jen Austin completes one year at KIFI and Exists for Mrs. USA Pageant

In today's world we have to accept often younger reporters gaining experience as they work to prepare for larger markets. Not so with Jen Austin, who was on the air for the last time yesterday. She will continue to live in the Idaho Falls area but is representing Idaho In the Mrs. USA PAGEANT to be held in July.

Austin had some bloopers of her shown. I was surprised. This published author of two or three books, motivational speaker has had a platform about child sexual abuse. A subject few will address.

Jen has worked in tv, radio (for a Frandsen Media station in St. George, UT), written for the Post Register and started the online St. George News among other accomplishments. I hope she does well in the competition

Question Thursday Night Football Questions

This is my cross post from the Seattle Seahawks Denver Broncos post. Please see it for more detail.

I'm excited for TH night football on CBS! As I asked in the other thread, what are the advatages of playing on Thursday vs. Sunday for the teams?

Also, will there be more than one game each TH night? If so, I imagine time zones will dictate what game KIDK shows.

Just think about this for a minute. Now we'll have not only Monday morning quarterbacking going on, we'll have Friday morning quarterbacking too.

Thanks for any answers anyone can provide

Question Emily V. on Football Coverage

I like how KIFI splits the high school football coverage into Jeff, Chris and Emily. Emily is doing the 5 a.m., 6 a.m. and noon shows. On Fridays she helps with sports. I think she does a good job with sports.

Have you seen her? If so, what do you think is her strongest area (anchor, forecaster or sports reporter) in a newscast?

Question Fox 5?

What's up with the local Fox affiliate rebranding and changing cable stations? Effective 10/20 KXPI will be Fox 5. No change in channel for OTA or satellite users. No longer channel 20 on cable, instead moving to channel 5.

The new logo says FOX 5 and has the same station call letters.

They say programming will continue as it is now.

Anyone know more or can explain why rebranding is happening in the middle of Oct.?

Thanks

Default Letterman Should be Wrapping it Up Soon

If previously announced plans go as announced, David Letterman should be ending his shows soon. Anyone want to guess who he'll have as some of his last guests?
