Thanks!

I was originally looking for a house, but have decided to instead look for either a Townhouse or an apartment (between the two, a townhouse would be my preference).

I travel a lot, but if I'm understanding correctly, the airport isn't that far way from anywhere in Idaho Falls. Someone told me they thought the airport was on the west side of town but that the east side of town had better housing. They also told me that even from the east side of town, a taxi to the airport would probably be no more than $8.

Do these statements seem correct?

You're correct that the airport is on the west side of town. There are some townhouses right there on Skyline which would make the taxi ride close to nil

Yes, there are some nice ones on the east side as well. I can't help you with the cost of the taxi as everyone I know either parks and flies or has someone drop them off.

My brother lived for a time in an apartment on Skyline and my sister in law live on a road with her backyard facing Skyline on the West side. There are a number of rentals in the area. Seems okay to me and really close to the airport and freeway but a long way from the major retail developments though there is food and some shopping on W. Broadway.

I'm not sure where I would live in Idaho Falls but there are some nice historic homes just W. of Yellowstone in the number streets that I'd look at. I like the older homes, tree-lined narrow streets, and don't mind the small lot size and living in close proximity to neighbors.

Reminds me of my home in the University district in Pocatello which I miss quite a bit.

TwinPrism, I'm somewhat confused. Are you saying "just west of Yellowstone" is still part of Idaho Falls?
Aren't the two (Yellowstone and I.F.) about 2 hours from each other?

TwinPrism is meaning Yellowstone Highway which runs through IF heading to the Park.
