You could try the Deseret Store on E St., downtown IF. Lots of hand-me-down and used stuff, from clothes to books to some furniture (thought not a lot)

There is also an antique mall just off of N. Yellowstone - will try to look up the name. It's right along the tracks, just north of the stockyards.

What Breer is thinking of is Trackside Mall

There is also Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift store downtown on 478 Shoup Ave. Idaho Falls ID 83402 208-542-5412

Bonneville Humane Society Thrift Store
444 North Eastern Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID

Ok guys, there has to be more selection than this? Looking on craigslist you'd think they no longer make furniture in this world, for how dearly folks value their old couches. If I had known we would have rented a bigger truck and taken all our junk with us!

For used stuff, there is not a lot in town - we looked ourselves when we first got here. Are you looking for large furniture - couches, etc? You might be resigned to shopping at a typical furniture store.

Last ditch effort: there is an antique shop on N. Yellowstone, just as you come out from downtown (and pass under the railroad tracks). Don't know the name, and never been inside myself, but it's on the right hand side just past the turn to 1st St.

There is also O'Dells furniture store - Holmes & Lincoln Rd (southwest corner, access from Lincoln Rd.). Not the best prices overall, but a few deals can be found in most any furniture store. Also, there is a Blackers' furniture on Lincoln, down towards Woodruff.

There is an online freecycle group in Idaho Falls that might be able to help you. The group is for either giving things away or asking for something you need. They also have a side group called the freecycle cafe where the rules aren't as strict. You could ask if someone has used items they want to sell. It seems like an active group. And if you go to Blacker's, at the back of the store there is a stairway going upstairs to their clearance area. They have some pretty good deals on new stuff there.

Try The Consignment Store. They are located on Lincoln Rd across from Blacker's Furniture. They buy, sell and consign quality used furniture, home decor, select antiques and more.

Hey Thrifty, welcome back! I had to look up your old posts to make sure I remembered correctly who you were. I was actually thinking of you in August--we were exploring Derr Island, taking pictures, and I remembered that was where you used to live. Lots of homes for sale there now...

Hope all's well in IF! Come back and visit the Front Porch...
