Show me your best Idaho winter Picture.
I really want to see Idaho winter pictures. Post your coolest winter pic, the worst winter you've ever seen pic, and your typical winter pic. I can't wait to move there next year and I need some inspiring pictures to get me even more excited!

The first one is during the heavy '07-'08 winter, but even BEFORE the worst of it. So this pic would be a heavier-than-usual winter but not yet extreme.
The second one was taken from my car up at Schweitzer in March 2008, during some of the worst of it. That garage roof has some CRAZY snow load.
Third one is from late January 2008, when the snow was piling up pretty good. This is an example of a VERY severe winter.
Last shot is from December 2009, with my wife and labradors. An amazing small snowfall winter. Maybe 6" total snowpack...barely like winter.
There IS NO "AVERAGE" WINTER IN NORTH IDAHO. The old timers tell me it's always something different, from temps to snowfall to snowpack to freeze/melt cycle to ice to arid/humid, etc.

Those are some great pictures! Misty, that just fell off the roof, RIGHT??
Sage, that roof load is a little scary but that is on the mountain and the snow would be less down below right?
If not, I need to redesign my roof load on my house design...

This is a lousy cell phone picture and it's kind of hard to see, but it gives you an idea of how much snow we had. This was March 19, 2009 and the snowbanks were still higher than the top of my truck.

Yes, that snowy garage roof is up at Schweitzer, and that was on a big year. Just showing you what it's like on a BIG snow year up high. But down in Sandpoint and Sagle that year, there was a good 3-4' of snow on several roofs.

This was taken last Christmas. It's one of the first pictures I'd taken with my new camera. It's Clearwater County. We didn't realize at that time what an easy winter it was going to be.
This was taken about the same time, maybe a month later, the previous winter with a cheap point and shoot camera. I'll let the amount of snow on the roof of the outhouses speak for itself.
This was also taken with that same point and shoot, probably on the same day.
I'm actually kind of looking forward to winter this year. I don't know as I missed the drudgery of it last year, but there's something to be said for hunkering down.
