Although, I only swear when the Denver Broncos lose....can't help it. I keep it indoors though.

And we'll be glad to have you. Don't be surprised if neighbors just stop on by...this morning some neighbors stopped at our place at 9AM and dropped off donuts...they had bought 2 dozen and didn't need them all...convenient? no. Awfully thoughtful? Yup. Back in August we came home to 6 huge watermelons on our porch. A neighbor had a pickup bed full he got from his work, so he drove around the neighborhood sharing. Someone else dropped a box of feed for our animals once too...just 'cause....
Oh...and if we hung out at Slates or some other sports bar, I think there would be plenty of swearing during sporting events...you'll be fine as long as you don't CHEER for the Broncos.

Now now Sage, that's where we're lucky to not be regionally attached to a team. For me, it's the Black & Gold, Steelers! The husband even knows his demure mother is not allowed to visit during football season, cause well I also have a few flying out.

Most people we know in NID tend to gravitate toward the Seahawks. It's sort of our closest "home team" I suppose...

Tsk tsk Sage Always being the non-conformist, I've been Black & Gold ever since I could remember.

Sage,
Many of us are waiting for the day when the Vandals humiliate BSU, regardless of where we live!

Two Idaho vs. California tidbits:
1. Can't get pulled over for getting pulled over with my California Plates
I finally get a chance to be pulled over with my Calif. plates, and still did not get pulled over.
I evidently didn't notice the stop sign as I was pulling out from my primo museum parking spot, and, the sun in my eyes, kids chattering, and trying to figure out how to get onto Yellowstone, pulled out in front of an IFPD car.
Those who know me well wonder how this could possibly happen, that I failed to check out a man on duty, but it is true. (Although I did note the usefulness of my accidental tactic ; )
Anyway, the nice officer pulled up to me and had me roll down the passenger side window. He suggested that, the next time I am at a stop sign, I might want to look both ways before turning. Have a nice day!
2. No better place to run yourself of the road
Out around Island Park this morning the roads were pretty icy and we came upon a minivan perched offroad on it's side. We joined the one vehicle on the shoulder with flashers on, the occupants of which had already summoned ER personnel, but who, like us, were ready to render aid until they arrived, which fortunately was seconds after we pulled over.
This struck me as at odds with business as usual in California, where the longest it ever took me to get roadside assistance from passerby when I had broken down without a cell phone was over an hour, in broad daylight, me in a business suit out in the sweltering heat. The guy who finally stopped said he had heard a sermon that week about the good samaritan. Another time, cars were so oblivious to my stalled vehicle on the freeway that I grabbed the dog by the neck and raced up an embankment to safety, using my shoelaces as a leash until the tow driver and CHP arrived. The tow driver lost a mirror to traffic on that call.

NM I've been pulled over twice for speeding up there. Once in Spokane on the freeway going about 15 mph over, and then a few months ago in NID going about 20 mph over on Hwy 95.. Both times with Cali. plates, both times they let me off with a warning. Both officers were extremely friendly, and nowhere near as "jittery" as they can be here..Ha!.. So Cal Cops approach a car with a hand on thier gun. Up there they stroll up with a flashlight, maybe a clip board and a smile..
Not saying Cops here are bad, but they sure are more wary and stand-offish when you get pulled over.
I've taken a ton of trips up there over the years and those were the only times I ever got pulled over. Now in Utah I got TWO speeding tickets within an HOUR of each other! I KNOW they were looking for Cali plates there!!..lol

My story for the day (totally unrelated to California plates but related to getting pulled over);
Years ago I dated a guy who lived in Boise. He was working for a Mazda dealer and had taken the brand new RX7 off the lot. We got on the freeway and he was doing a good 120 MPH, scared the daylights out of me and I don't think the cops could have caught us if they'd tried to!
Then we got back into town and he was rounding the corner near his home and said, "Watch this". Well he slowed way down and then stepped on it and screeched around the corner. Well lo and behold, two cops were sitting right there and both headed after us, sirens blaring, lights on. They headed to our car with guns drawn. OMG, thought we were gonna die.
Well, they never even ticketed us. I think they realized it was some young kid showing off to his young girlfriend and they let us go. But we sure never did that again.
