Man I sure hope those Chico house prices are comparable to Visalia calif.
Than means 400 + for our 2700 sq ft with a shop.
Now to find a 2500 home with a shop in Emmett will be the trick.

Just to give you an idea we have 5 fenced acres, pond, creek, 2900 sq ft home, large insulated/heated shop( 1800 sq ft) backed by national forest and we're asking 325k. Realter says we are in good ball park range. Our taxes came down and only 1k but we're in ID county. Hubby and I want to down size and travel.

I agree with ArtMom, but they do eventually and reluctantly, adjust.

I am still driving with my Cali plates and haven't had a single problem. I drive to school every day, drive from one town to another every day to work (sometimes 2x/day) and drive all over the region in the course of my duties. I shop, go to church, get involved in community events and activities, so have about as much exposure as is physically possible, and not a single problem having to do with my being readily identified as Californian. Just my .02 cents.

We experienced many. Although, that was some time ago when this area was much smaller. They are getting more and more imports and while they still don't like it, they're almost outnumbered now. Hence, your experience. Also, you haven't been here that long yet.

Sorry, I still totally disagree. I'd have got more S*** for being Californian in one week if I was in California than I've gotten in 4 months here plus all the previous time spent visiting and buying a house.

Are you Mormon? I suppose that makes a huge difference. You're free to disagree, but we know what our reality has been and just because your's wasn't the same, doesn't make our experience invalid.

I don't understand your statement but the answer to your question is NO. I'm happy to agree to disagree. I'm not saying you haven't experienced whatever you have experienced, my experience simply does not include being singled out or treated differently for being from California, even when my California plates are associated with political or LDS unfriendly activities, as well as in the aforementioned circumstances.
