Spud Day is a lot of fun. Glad you posted about it, norcalmom101. It's GREAT to have others posting info here. Probably time to start posting about the Halloween activities, pumpkin patches etc. Busy time of year with potato harvest.
It's GREAT to have others posting info here! Keep up the good sources of info and link. Each person brings unique points that may benefit others.
Enjoy the colors of fall.

The Haunted House at the Virginia Theater in Shelley is absolutely the best Haunted House I've ever been to, and it is terrifying. There is a seperate schedule for younger kids. I'll post the schedule as soon as I get a copy.

Norcalmom101,
Good info to know. I didn't realize there was a separate schedule for younger kids.
The Virginia Theater has really been transformed the last 2-3 years. It's good to see the community using it for many purposes.
Thanks for the post!

Have You Attended Free Classes At The Prepared Pantry?
Has anyone attended the free cooking classes at The Prepared Pantry in Rigby? If so, what was your experience?
Sage, I hope you will allow this link to remain, because for those interested in learning how to cook/bake or to do it better, let allow the FORUM portion of this website, I'm not trying to sell products from this business - I didn't even know it existed yesterday. Rather, I'm trying to learn more about it and potentially inform others what is a somewhat new business that may have discussions and/or free classes we all may enjoy.
The Prepared Pantry's link is: //www.preparedpantry.com/index.html. If one is interested in the subject, check the FORUM on the Right Hand side of the home page. It appears several local discussions are already ongoing.
Thanks-

Christmas Box Angel Candle Light Vigil 12/06/08 at 6:00 p.m.
Please feel free to post info here. It has been a month since I last could. So many annual activities from the CommUNITY Fest, the Harvest Fest and other annual activities have occured and no posts here.
This is a more somber post and not one to go have fun. However, to many this is such an important event.
On Saturday Dec. 6, at 6:00 p.m., there will be a Candle Light Vigil at the Christmas Box Angel. This is in Fielding Memorial Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
This is a gathering to remember children lost to death, regardless of the reason.
Some may be surprised to know how many have visited this non-denominational, beautiful memorial to children in the past year, or at the dedication. Many may think no one they know fits in this group. Perhaps....or maybe you don't know some of your friends and neighbors in southeastern ID as well as you thought.
I congratulate and celebrate the efforts of ALL involved in building this lasting momenument for Children and giving parents, grandparents, other relatives and friends a place to remember the children we've lost.
If you want to honor a deceased child and never knew this monument existed in Idaho Falls (the first in Idaho), learn more about it. If possible, attend the Candle Light Vigil on 12/06/08 at 6:00 p.m.

Tasting Idaho Wines as Part of AIDS Awareness on 12/06/08
Some may not be aware of "Breaking Boundaries," an eastern Idaho organization which addresses AIDs awareness. For those who thought no group or residents in eastern ID are aware this horrible disease is not stopped at Idaho borders, you may want to learn more about the group or their annual fund raising activities.
To their credit, this is the 7th year of raising awareness about AIDS in eastern ID.
There will be two days of activities on 12/05/08 and 12/06/08. Hopefully, others who know more specifics will post here. However, I wanted to alert those who may be interested about the Wine Tasting of Idaho wines on Sat. Dec. 6th. This event will be held at the Elks Club.
Other activities such as dinner and dancing, a formal Black Tie dinner on Friday along with displaying the National Aids Memorial Quilt are scheduled.
Please, if you know more about this group or their activities, post here. Many don't know eastern ID has two very pro-active Infectious Disease physicians who, along with others, want eastern ID to be educated about this horrible disease.
I don't know more and would certainly appreciate anyone who has links or more information to post it here. From my perspective, these two days of activities help the diversity of the area, help more people feel accepted by others, and provide valuable education. Fun activities have been co-sponsored by local businesses to help educate and fund raise for Breaking Boundaries.
I hope this is a very successful event again this year.

This link makes it sound like the Quilt is on display today and tomorrow behind The Cellar at 17th and Ammon:
.:Post Register - Idaho Falls, ID:.
POST REGISTER
The National AIDS Quilt is making a stop in Idaho Falls, or at least part of it is.
Twenty sections from the national quilt -- plus a local section -- will be on display today and Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Eagle Pines Plaza at 17th Street and Ammon Road behind the Cellar restaurant.
The events are free to the public.
Both sections feature the names of people who've died of the disease.
The local section will be displayed for the first time, and the national sections are one of only nine major displays that will be shown throughout the country this year.
As of this June, the national quilt had approximately 84,000 names, representing 17.5 percent of AIDS deaths in the United States.
The AIDS quilt display is part of the fifth Annual HIV and AIDS awareness benefit organized by the local Breaking Boundaries chapter.
