McCall Vs. Sun Valley Area?
I have lived in both before and now in Hailey, Id. Wondering which one would be better. Stay where I am at or relocate to McCall and why? Looking for opinions.

I'm almost thinking you're the best one to answer that question after having lived on both questions.
Me? Any place but Hailey.

Well, I haven't lived in McCall in 25 years, so it's hard to make a call on that. What didn't you like about Hailey BTW?

Ok, thanks. Kinda hard to give an opinion on someplace you've never lived before, isn't it?

Hailey or McCall
Well,I am sure you have heard McCall is to be the next Sun Valley. I have been living in McCall for 14 years and with Tamarack Resort being built most of us are wondering how we will be able to afford too live here. If you come with lots of money you should have no problem.
You will expect to pay $1200-$2500 for rent or at least $400,000.00 & up for a house and possibly these will be in the fixer upper range. Hope this helps.

Wildberries I hear you. We have the same concern just over the hill from you in Cambridge. Sigh. Prices are not quite as high here. What you could buy for 60K 2 years ago is selling for 125K or more now and I am talking fixers. One house was on the market for years at 25K just sold for 68K when things went crazy here. Seems there are people with too much money to spend. For you and I I hope the homeowners tax relief will be of some help. I really do not want to have to move again. Just does not seem fair now does it?

Yea, but that's the same as it is in any resort town. It's just the price you pay to live in an area like McCall.

McCall
Chris,
I have been watching in your area and it doesn't seem to have grown. But, housing prices are going up. I have heard of a few locals leaving here for Cambridge or Weiser. Noticed a few places have closed which , is even happening here alot due to greedy landlords. Everyone in the McCall mall strip has had there rent raised and so they have all chosen to move out of the area. Life does do some changing but, it really is a sudden boom for the old timers.
gc57 for your reply 2 years ago McCall wasn't a resort area I would go to Boise and most the people had heard of McCall some what had no idea where we were now its a constant traffic trail from Boise. But, we do pay the price to live where everyone wants to be. Good to be in the mountains.

Better choice than Aspen or Jackson or some other overpriced resort. Look at CDA.
