The east side of Moscow is pretty torn up at the moment so expect a delay where you turn off 95 onto 8. It's not that bad time-wise but the road is a real mess. You won't actually really be going into Moscow at all since the turn off from 95 to 8 is on the edge of town. There is also construction west of Deary but that could be completed really soon.

Alternately, if you want to avoid Moscow you can turn off 12 befor you get to Lewiston and take highway 3 up to Deary where it intersects with 8. (After looking at my map it appears that the highway between Bovill and St. Maries is also highway 3.) That's a nice ride actually, between Kendrick and Deary, a steep winding grade that opens up to farm land at the top. Either way you go (95 to Moscow or 3 to Deary) you've got to climb up out of the canyon and onto the Palouse. Personally, if I were making the drive, and didn't have a reason to go to Moscow, I'd take highway 3 up to Deary. The map does make it look confusing but that's mainly because you have to cross the Clearwater and, even with my offical highway map and having driven that road many many times, it just isn't very clear how the two intersect. It's pretty well signed though and if you do happen to miss the turn off onto 3 for some reason you can always continue on towards Lewiston and jump on 95 North to 8 and all that. It's just quicker and less urban to go through Kendrick.

I hope you have a great time. We had a so much fun on our little Idaho getaways last summer. We really do live an awesome place with incredibly diverse geography. It is, for sure, worth seeing as much as you can!
