Default small quaint towns in idaho

I will soon be traveling thru Idaho and would like to visit some small, quaint, charming, historic high-quality little towns with old buildings, boutiques, restaurants, nice houses. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.Thank you so much.

Idaho is a very large geographic area...so it kind of depends on which direction you are coming from and going to. If you are planning to visit Boise (which, by the way, is not quaint or charming) you may want to visit downtown Eagle, Idaho City and perhaps Emmett. Challis is good. Moscow is a great town to spend a day or two in (the U of I is there and has a lovely campus). There are some great boutique style shoppes in their downtown area. Coeur d'Alene isn't exactly small, but definitely a must see on any tour. If you are heading in the right direction, the absolute best spot in Idaho (sorry to everyone if you disagree...but I am right ) is Redfish Lake in Stanley. The view from their beach of Mt. Heyburn and the Sawtooths is one that you won't soon forget. And stay, their website is Redfish Home The food at the lodge is very good this year. Stanley is a great little town. Sun Valley and Ketchum are only 30 minutes from Stanley and are very popular little destinations. All in all....Idaho is a big area to cover. Let me know if you'd like more specifics on a particular place.
