Any information on Twin Falls, ID
We are moving to Idaho in June and have been to Meridian, but are also looking at some other cities. Any information that I can get on Twin Falls, ID would be appreciated. Also any information on the middle schools and high schools. Thank-you!

Twin Falls is a booming community. Although only 40,000 population, it has many smaller communities around and alot of amenities you would find in a town of 100,000 people. Only one high school, but one is being built. Both middle schools are very good, but don't expect to walk into town and find dozens of homes to pick from. Shop early and be agressive. Might want to rent first. Hope this helps. A good website is an advertisement which violates forum rules

You can avoid some of the tight real estate in Twin by looking at surrounding small towns within a 45-mile radius or so. A lot of these are still undiscovered by the transplants, so it's a "buyer's market."

45 miles sounds like a lot, but bear in mind the low population density so that the freeways are nowhere near as crowded here.

Twin Falls is a great small community, handy to virtually every kind of outdoor activity. Housing prices are going up and the inventory is in short supply. Lots of new houses are being built.
Far more retail available than in most cities of 40,000 and any number of restaurants.
Growth rate is in the 4% range so still manageable compared to Boise, Nampa or Meridian. Great place to live!

Twin Falls real estate is booming. I work for an civil engineer company in town and we have about 35 new subdivisions on the books for development. There are 3 other firms in town that are just as busy. Finding a house will not be a problem. The job market is a bit tight, but there seems to be no problem with people buying $250 - 350,000 homes.

I would look at how it is growing. The two above me made comments on that. What do you plan to do for work? With the job market being more service then any thing I would look at that too. The weather is about like Boise’s hot summers but colder and icier in the winter. The driving commute can take and should take longer at that time also. Some drive just as crazy in the winter as they do in the summer. Out on interstate hwy 84 it is set at 70mph most drive over that, at lest when I was driving from Boise to there daily. I found winter or summer, rain or snow, did not seem to matter to them.
