Default Is Coeur D' Alene a health conscious city?

My fiance and I are about to embark on a three week camping trip throughout the Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho). Our research in the past few months have led us to believe that these areas would fit us well. We are both South Florida natives and have been living in Prescott, Arizona for the past year and a half, however, the lack of foilage and moisture has really been hard to live with...there is no "life or soul" here!!! We are between the ages of 25 and 36, and enjoy outdoor water activites, we love to be out in nature, love tons of green around us...Arizona has brown...no green. We are both active and eat mostly organic, so having organic grocery stores nearby is a must. We love being in a city that has culture (different ethnic restaurants), cool coffee houses, we are not into the club or party scene by any means, our idea of a nice night out is having a cookout with friends at sunset or listening to some Jack Johnson or Norah Jones at an outdoor cafe in the evening...if Coeur D' Alene offers what we are looking for...any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Compared to most areas, mainly east of the Mississippi, the answer is YES.

Well, we are one of the few cities in Idaho (and the NW besides oregon) that has dedicated bike lanes on main roads, and that is a very progressive step. Downtown has exactly what you mean, ethnic restaraunts and coffee bars, local shops and such. There are many places to buy organic groceries, at either larger grocery store and there are some local organic places as well. It is a fairly democratic city (by IDAHO standards) so there are a fair amount of environmenrtally conscience place. Even though it is not true, people had started a rumor that Trader Joes was coming to the Spokane-Cd'A area--and was going to be in Cd'A over SPokane. Remember, this is NOT true, but people could see a business like this being sucessful here, so there is that movment.
