Last year an spontaneous walk around the Greenbelt was also walked by many. One step for each victim lost.

If you wish to add what your city in Idaho is doing to remember this day, or any Idaho resident who was a victim of these terrorist attacks, please do. This is a day to remember those who have given so much and their families. Some were Idaho residents.

Today marks the 6th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. From 4pm until 9:30pm, Courtesy Ford in Pocatello is hosting their annual tribute to 9-11. This year's theme is "Spice Up The Night". The event is dedicated to our two local fallen soldiers, SGT Blake Stephens and SGT Nick Gummersall and to all of those who have served our country, past and present, and to the brave Americans who lost their lives on 09-11-01.

There will be a static display complete with a Blackhawk Helicopter and 2 Palidan Tank Killers. The Marines will have a pull up competition, Pocatello and Chubbuck Fire Departments, Pocatello Police and Idaho State Police will all have displays. Food will be available from vendor Pepper Brothers. Patriotic music will play throughout the day. The band Rockin Horse will play beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This 9-11 Tribute will be complete with traditional opening ceremonies with, Rick Cheatum as Master of Ceremonies beginning at 6:45 p.m. POW*MIA Awareness Rally Corp. will lead with a flag presentation and the colors will be presented by the Idaho Army National Guard. Guest speakers will be a representative from Senator Mike Crapo's Office, Captain Hansen of the Idaho Army National Guard and Dr. Trent Stephens.

The public is invited and entry to the event is an unopened, unbreakable bottle of spice to be shipped to our Soldiers in Iraq, or a bag of hard candy suckers for the soldiers can pass them out to the children in Iraq.

The idea of this event was that of Brontee Dominique Sherer, an 8th grader at Franklin Middle School. Brontee felt this was a way she could make a difference.

"While vigils and memorials were held around the nation, Idaho Falls held its own memorial downtown Tuesday night. The Fire Department honored the lives lost during the attacks on 9/11.

"Back in 2001, the dispatchers in Idaho Falls held a memorial to honor each of the firefighters lost in the line of duty in the state's history. The cold of October and deciding to hold the memorial on a more poignant day, the memorial moved to be held on September 11th.

"During Tuesday's memorial, fire fighters spoke, the fire department's pipe band played, and each of the 34 Idaho firefighters who died in the line of duty were honored with the lighting of thirty four candles.

"The dispatchers plan to continue this tradition for years to come. Not only is it a time to remember those lost, but a chance for the fire department to get together."
