I have only heard of Old River Road, not Old Range or Old Ridge Rd. They may be there, I have just never heard of them.

There really isn't much more.....seriously.
However, I think Clark Fork will see substantial growth over the next 20 years or so. The locals are happy or have left, but potential residents are appearing in larger numbers in recent months.

We have lived in Clkark Fork for 17 years. As far as the town itself little has changed. There has been an influx of people (mostly in areas outside of town) but not to a huge degree, and some of those have left. During the real estate surge lots of people were clear cutting their property and selling the wood then selling or trying to sell the land. Some sold and some did not and some are still sitting there with realtors signs on them 2 yrs. later. Things have slowed down a lot as far as people moving here or people selling and moving out. Of course as winter approaches QUICKLY things almost come to a standstill as far as people selling or moving in or out.

Nice picture!! Looks like my kind of town. I am trying really hard to get there. The realtor that I am working with out there was calling me quite a bit giving me information on a property I am really interested in. Then I ask my realtor about maybe renting until I learn my way around and then deciding on a property to buy. Now the realtor dosen't return my calls. So does anyone know a good realtor that will help me. Thanks!

Hmm.. that sucks. I wonder if she is just really busy? Well, if things continue to go south, I do know one realtor. She's sold stuff for my family before (they've been here a while) and she was recently voted best realtor in the county. Google Charisse Moore, I believe she works for Evergreen Realty. Not sure if they do stuff in CF, but it'd be worth a try.

I doubt very much a Clark Fork Realtor is very busy. If this back and forth has been going on a long time, my guess is she isn't feeling you are really going to move forward or is tired of the many long distance calls with no results. That is just a guess. Like I said before there are not many rentals in the CF area, so maybe that is it.

Is your property on Old Range Road on or off the grid? In regards to rentals, if you hear of one, act quick. There aren't many around. Comment on the schools--CF beat Sandpoint on the state wide test! The picture of CF shows Hay's Chevron--Owned by one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
I have lived 5 miles outside of CF for over 15 years and love it. CF has a great library, friendly churches, and wonderful people. Most of the people are in the same economic boat and are willing to help one another. Is CF perfect? No, but like most places--you get what you put into it. Example: The local mechanic was in a motorcycle accident a few months ago. The town came together and held a benefit auction and raised over $22,000. If you get burned out, the Methodist Women's Rummage room will open its doors to you. Need a job, ask Bob at the Chevron gas station. Also, you don't need to live here forever to be accepted. Just be friendly, keep a smile on your face and wave as you drive down the street.

You may want to consider western Montana as many areas are very similar to the C.F. area. Lower costs also from what I've looked at. The worse a town looks the lower the cost to live there it seems. Smaller rental houses in my town are being offered for $325. to $375. per month. (Hot Springs Mt.)
