I've been to Hot Springs. Cute little town, seems very tight knit. The scenery doesn't really compare to CF though.

Hot Springs Montana is anything from tight knit, my stitches are hurting from laughing !!! This place is loosy goosey knit ! It seems to me that the scenery is not what you live in a small town for. It's the safety net that the good folks in a friendly town provide for newcomers ond oldtimers alike who they deem worth helping ! Folks in small towns seem to help each other get by, anyone who has lived in a small town knows that. Low cost of living is a big consideration too. If folks don't like where you're from, or if they don't like your attitude for some reason, or because of things you may have said while being in a naive, "new environment daze" (or some other type of daze for that matter !), then you won't last long even if you're NOT from California ! Hot Springs has earned the nickname of "Pot Springs" because it has the world famous better than Baden Baden (in my opinion), hot mineral soaking pools and it's not uncommon for you to soak with many folks from around the world. It makes for a town that is very diversified, with many folks living alternative lifestyles, many retirees with physical disabilities in varying degrees live here for the springs as well as the fact that the people of Montana recently approving the legitimate use of cannabis for pain relief in an election. These features have only enhanced the desirability of living in this town. If you spend a few days or a week or two in the area surrounding our town you'll see that the town proper is in a farming valley backed up by hills that are logged by the tribe.
Look at these pictures, I wont post images directly on this post in respect for band width costs, ( that's duffus speak for I don't know how too !) but if you click on these Picasa web album links you can check out the scenery around Hot Springs. We are not all that far from Clark Fork from a regional point of view. Click on "slideshow" and they will load slowly one at a time. It's worth the wait cuz the eventualy will show big screen and clear once they finish loading.

I have horses and am looking forward to a quiet and peaceful life. I am from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Thank's so much for your help and time.
Although I am worried about too many people moving into the area, it seems you would fit right in. Several parcels around the area are up for sale.
Bonner County as a whole will someday be ruined in my opinion as whole mountain sides are being ripped up for expensive homes for snow birds. They will destroy the very thing they came up here to enjoy.

Hi, I was wondering if you relocated to CF and if so, how do you like it? I am sort of but not really but sort of (LOL) thinking of relocating someplace new and I found a place in CF I'm inquiring about with a realtor. Any info you can offer would be great. I'm curious to know if you found a place for your horses.
