Talking Boise vs twin falls or sandpoint?

Hi everyone,
We are considering a move to Idaho when I finish my orthodontic residency. We are considering Boise, Twin Falls and Northern Idaho. Any suggestions? Do any of these areas need an orthodontist? Anything would help.
Thanks

If you are really looking for a place full of growth to support your career I would go for Boise. It's thriving and young...lots of kids teeth to fix! Sandpoint is so beautiful, but I don't know anything about the economy there. Not a fan of Twin Falls, it isn't bad...but it isn't great either.

Soon,
I know here in Sandpoint, there are a couple orthodontists for a regional population of around 30,000. Not sure how that figures in.. One, recently took over a long standing practice about a year ago.. not sure how he likes it up here, or how business is. His predicessor seemed to do fine. I have his number if you'd like to give him a call... still no endo or perio up here yet... otherwise, you might consider locating a bit further towards CDA or Post Falls, about 45 miles south, since there is a bigger population there...

It's been a long time since I was current in such matters, but I guess orthodontists still need to bend some wire and or need the services of a lab. I assume not everything is "Invisiline," even today. I would suggest you also determine whether lab services are convenient wherever you choose to locate. I did a quick check and found the following breakdown for labs in the areas you are considering.

15—Boise
5—Coeur D’Alene (reasonably close to Sandpoint)
1—Sandpoint
9—Twin Falls Area

The number of labs in any area may be an indicator of a need for your services, but I would venture to state that the bread and butter of the labs I found is full and partial dentures and crown and bridge work. Just how much of their work is ortho is anyone's guess.
