In the meantime Pine Ridge Mall seems to be dying. Lost Macy's, now Dillard's is leaving. That leaves JC Penney as the only major store. Looks like IF or SLC for clothing now.

I have just heard today from someone close to the situation Costco will be opening in either October or November.

As for Macy's, they are pulling out all over the US and consolidating. Their St. Louis HQ (where I currently live) just announced plans to shut down, at a cost of 900 jobs so that they can move to regional HQ in Atlanta. I wouldn't count that against Pocatello, necessarily.

Yes, consolidation is the main reason why they shut the Pocatello store, as they have a Macy's 50 miles north in Idaho Falls. But the recent pull-out of Dillard's confirms that Pocatello is coming up short against IF in this retail sector.

I just found out today that the pocatello costco is scheduled to open on october 23rd.
