Hi y'all! I am so excited to be able to tell y'all that we have an escrow closing here within the the next two weeks! We have been been living in Oregon for the last 10 months and before that we were in Tennessee. As beautiful as it is here, and it is beautiful!, it just isn't right for us and we've been working on our exit strategy We use to go to St. Anthony Sand Dunes for the off roading and we've had a love affair with Idaho since 2003.

After this past Thanksgiving we took an Idaho trip to check out the various areas that interested us. We decided on the Sandpoint area and found a place in the country that we fell in love with I'm not quite sure when we'll make the move since we don't quite know how to move when there's 3' of snow on the ground....and the steps and the driveway....You get the point.

We are a retired couple that would love to know where to go to meet locals. Any suggestions you have for us would be very welcome.

Thanks for listening......

K & W

Congratulations on your purchase! Meet the locals at MickDuff's--wonderful microbrewed beers, relaxed atmosphere, and the best beer cheese soup! Great on a cold night. In summer you'll meet most of Sandpoint's population, sooner or later, at City Beach. Survey them in style from the deck ot the Trinity restaurant .

The owners moved here from SoCal. It's good stuff, and they're good people. And Attilanos down on Appleway in CDA (Coeur d'Alene) is San Diego style mexican food...and I can vouch for it. Crazy good food...and you'll swear you're in El Cajon. Even looks the part of a slightly dodgey drive-thru.

Once here, if you start hitting the events on this page that catch your eye, you'll find you will make plenty of friends quickly: Sandpoint Idaho events, arts calendar - Sandpoint Online

CFF, Sitting on the deck by the water sounds like a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon. Will definitely be putting that on the to do list

S of S, I haven't had a San Diego style burrito in a few years. DH is a retired deputy out of SD so we are very familiar with Baja style food and miss it terribly. The last 'berto style burrito I had my son brought to me on the plane when he flew from SD to Nashville. Two thousand miles and 8 hours of traveling does nothing to enhance the flavor, but it was a treat none the less.

DH and I both post under Stepney so you're likely to get either one of us here.

Thanks for all the welcomes!

K

Awwright! Another off-roader coming to Sandpoint! There is a local ATV club in Sandpoint if you are interested. If so, let me know and I'll check on when the next meeting is. They stopped meetings over the winter months.

Congrats!

Thanks Toyman, We'll let you know when we get there. We sold the buggy a few years ago but this may be the time to get something again. We're really looking forward to this
