Default Moving

Hello,

I'm new to bloging please be patient. My husband and I are looking at relocating to Couer D' Alene when he retires next year. I visited there in Sept. and fell in love with everything. We plan to come again in Feb. I do have questions. Is the snow really awful in the Winter ? Is there Southern Baptist Churches ? I should say we will be moving from Phoenix, Az. where I have lived for 30 years. I wonder if there is a good system of doctors and medical care hospitals etc? I do understand it will be a huge change for us.

Since we live in sunlight all year around I wonder if anyone has had problems with a lack of it in Winter ? Last of all for now. I love orchids and wonder if they do well there. My husband wants to learn fly fishing and possible flying.

Any info will be most welcome. Thank you.

Default Born in Coeur d' Alene, ID

Hello! I am a first timer too. but I was born in CdA. As for health care , better to drive 30 min to Spokane, WA, much better hosp there. I live in Boise now and for the last 10 years, climates warmer than Cd'A. As for winter, there have not been any really bad winters for years the winter of 68-69 the snow was as high as the roof, I would suggest taking a 2 week vacation in January and see how you like it, then check out Boise area.
Baptist Church I have no idea. If I can help you anymore please let me know.
I love Cd'A but my family is now in Boise, and Boise has allot to offer.
Good Luck!!

Hi,

thank you so much for your reply your's is the only one I have had. I think I maybe on the wrong blog. We did think we would have to go to Spokane for our dr.'s. I'm not sure we can go for two weeks we planned on Feb. is Jan. better to get a good feel for the weather ? We did give Boise some thought, but like the lakes, trees and just all the beauty in CdA. The air is so clear and clean compared to Phx. brown cloud much like L.A. with so many people moving here. Thank you again.

I just moved from Mesa to Cody Wy. I was born and raised in Sandpoint Idaho. I havent missed Mesa or Phx one bit. I like the changes in weather the scenery. I got some acreage so its quite. If u cant go with out all the amenities of a big city. Go for it!!! I wish i had moved 5 years earlier.

Smile Moving

Thank you for the heads up I did think I was in the wrong blog. Do you have more snow where you live now ? What is the cost of housing compared to Phx. & idaho ? The bottom has dropped out here and it is a buyers market. Thank you for your reply much appreciated. Did you hear of Valley Fever when you lived in Phx ?
