I am thinking of relocating from Utah to Idaho. I am looking for an area in Idaho, (or any other Western State for that matter), where you can rent a house on land that is very affordable, QUIET, not attached to or close to neighbors, decent pay, affordable health insurance, PET FRIENDLY, decent weather, and nice down to earth people. I am so tired of living in condos, apts., duplexes, and so close to neighbors who are loud I can't stand it anymore!!!
Is there any place left in this country where I can find what I am looking for??? I want to rent before making the decision to purchase. Anyone who can help me with information I am looking for I would truly appreciate it! |

Southeast Idaho almost fits the bill. You can be out on acreage with a house and not have neighbors on top of you, a good number of us are down to earth. When it comes to affordable insurance well, maybe not so much. Renting and being a pet owner is nearly impossible, not totally, but it is difficult to find a landlord who will allow pets. Decent weather is always a matter of opinion
I happen to love the snow we get. |

ab1222, please oh please, when you find that place let me know. I'm here next to Orlando Florida and I'm so crowded I'm feeling psycho. I'm ready for a simpler slower paced lifestyle, in the woods maybe. Only thing I really need is high speed internet.
I saw on one of your other posts that you were wanting to work from home. That'd also be something I'd like. Good luck. ![]() |

Oh yeah, and it'd be nice to find a way to make extra money to save for a down payment because I also am tired of being at the mercy of landlords when it comes to my cats.

Utah's population is getting up there, isn't it? With almost 2 million on the Wasatch Front alone, depending on where you are now, traffic and high prices of rent are unbelievable, compared to even 5 years ago. Since you are relatively close, I'd recommend driving to Idaho and looking around of where you would like to locate. It may depend on what type of work you do as well. Good luck in your adventure. It will be interesting to see what feels like "home" to you in Idaho. ![]() |
