Hi Izzy,
I will email them to you since there are several links and I am not sure it is allowed to send them through the board. We are in Cambridge which is further south than Moscow. Moscow is about 200 miles north. We love this town but it is very small and not something a lot of people would like. Chris Last edited by shades_of_idaho; 10-12-2006 at 09:20 PM. |

Could you tell me what the moscow terrian is like. Is it similar to where you live? As far as posting pics. I found out the hard way it is frowned upon. If you do it more than once it is red flagged

Izzy.
As I remember Moscow , Deary, Potlatch, are what I would call rolling. Orofino has deep and steep canyons. Weippe and Pierce are straight up on top of a mountain with switch backs to get up and down. Lenore is in a canyon. Lewiston has some steep and some flat. We have some flat farm land here but not like your Stockton with miles and miles of it. I used to live in Sacramento and would stop in a wonderful bakery in Manteka on the way to yosemite. It is mostly valleys here with high hills and mountains around. I really like Moscow and Deary Potlatch. Just too many people in Moscow for us. Since we do not have to work, but do, we have more freedom as to where we live. I love Weippe too but the road up to it is too scary for me as I am afraid of heights. It is very pretty up on top in the pine trees. Chris |

Manteca. We use to live there before we moved to Valley Springs. We lived in a mobile home park at the Manteca Water Slides. Nice park. Now we are in the foothills, fewer people, on a little over a .5 acre. Nice schools. Just way to expensive. Our house payments are $2400. before taxes
![]() The mobile home days are looking pretty good It is a thought though to buy property now and move later. Do they allow mobile homes on most of the land in your area? Do you think the property prices will come down in the next year?Izzy |

Izzy,
There are several manufactured homes in our area. Getting a good builder is hard to do and the manufactured homes of today are so much nicer than they used to be. We love ours and would buy another one in a heart beat if we moved and had to start over again. I think the only restrictions is the roof load here has to be at least 85 pounds SQ FT because of the snow load. We had to get a new roof which I think was an insurance **** on us . We did choose to have metal put over the comp roof so the snow will slide easier and the metal roof lasts so much longer. A couple of years ago when we were going to buy a new manufactured home it was an extra 5K for the metal roof from the factory which we had planned to do and then this place came availavle and we bought it. We are on a full foundation and considered real property so we are more of a regular house than a mobile home. We can not be moved with out tearing the decks and roofs off and cutting down half of the trees. Not going to do that. Many people buy now for retirement and do a pay as you go kind of thing. Right now Taxes here are not much compared to CA. Ours are about $700.00 a year. The shop you saw is larger than the house. A man thing. Some might call it a redneck thing. LOL We are on 8 acres. Right now property is high. When Tamarack started up property is so high up there people have to live elseware because they can not afford housing up there. There is supposed to be a road come over the mountain this direction which will make us even closer to Tamarack which might bring even more people here. We do not look for prices to drop soon. But a person never knows. We hope Tamarack will all fall flat but with the millions already into it we are afraid it is a go. ![]() Chris |
