Help! I am torn between ID and CO
Has anyone lived/or been to both places so I can get a perspective or comparison on these places. I can't decide!
They both seem like places I would like to call home!

For me it's Idaho
Only way to say for sure is to visit both places. For me, I thought Denver was the place I wanted to be, but when I got there, I quickly realized it wasn't. Here in Northern Idaho feels like home.
Do web research, get many opinions, then actually drive or fly to the places and check them out, there's no substitute for first-hand info.

I have lived in Boulder, Denver, and now Boise. Both states have truly wonderful things to offer, it just depends what you are looking for. We appreciate the the lack of people in the wilderness areas in ID in comparison to the front range of CO. We enjoy the lighter traffic of Boise as well as the close-knit community feel. It is a wonderful community to raise a family. We miss the increased diversity of the areas we lived in Colorado as well as the urban feel and amenities. It certainly comes down to what YOU want, and then deciding which area best suits YOUR needs/desires.

Co to Colorado
Colorado is much nicer than Idaho. The Mormons here hate outsiders and will hound you till the day you die to convert you. They will steal your mail and exclude your children from every activity. There are no decent paying jobs and no one can afford the high prices for land and houses.

I have to agree with cleosmom. Been in Idaho now for almost 12 years and never been hounded by anyone and my kids have always been included in things, even the LDS stake dances even though we're not LDS.
Jobs can be on the lower end of the payscale however, depending on what your occupation is.

We live in Boise and have families on two sides of us that are LDS and they are just normal neighbors. No one has ever mentioned religion to us in the many social situations we have been in. I will keep a better eye on my mailbox though!!!!! LOL

These are both large, diverse states! Might get more useful feedback if the question were more specific, such as Sun Valley vs Aspen, Stanley vs Rifle, Moscow vs Greeley, Coeur d'Alene vs Ft Collins, Idaho Falls vs Grand Junction, Boise vs Colorado Springs, or even Burley vs La Junta.
(Obviously, there is no Denver in Idaho; Salt Lake City vs Denver is an oft made comparison, though.)

Well, I tend to live in areas with less population so I can compare rural areas for you.
Western Colorado and Middle to Northern Idaho are very similar.......seems to be more based on town size as RodFarlee mentioned.
Friends in Boise love the size, great for families (per them) and lots of resources. They hate the traffic as the town has grown too fast the past 5 years to keep up with roadways...of course if you are from LA you will think this pure heaven <grin>.
I live in the mountains and work farther north -- love it!!!
And I have never had a single incident with any religious group.... lots of Mormons, Mennonites, German Baptist communities -- seems to be pretty much live and let live...
unlike the often anti-Latino individuals I ran into while living in Colorado.
Hopefully you can figure a way to visit each for an extended time and find the answer for yourself.
Good luck!!!!!

CO vs ID
Born and raised in Denver, but currently live in Ashton ID.
These are personal opinions and observations, but here it goes.
Colorado Plus
Great skiing and lots and lots of places to ski.
Very diverse culture
Big city shopping, restaurants & sporting events
Colorado Negatives
Not the same state it was 10-15 years ago
WAY too many people for the infrastructure - highways are a MESS!
Denver real estate is over inflated
Idaho Plus
Small town atmosphere & friendliness
Lots of outdoor activities
Real estate affordable - but climbing too fast
Idaho Negatives
A lot of business' are closed on Sunday
Too many people moving here from out of state LOL
Pretty harsh winters in a lot of the state
NEVER been bothered by the LDS. Have many friends and family who are LDS and they are no different than any other group/religion. Their beliefs are not in tune with mine, but I sure respect their family values and support system. Now if I could only get them to steal all of my junk mail - now that would be a true asset.
