Bonner is now strict and annoying. They even use satellite imagery to look for more things on your property to tax you on.

Yup.

Building codes can be a person's friend, as they really help building a home that wont fall apart. A home that can be insured. A home that won't contaminate the family living in it, or hurt their neighbors too.

They can save a do-it-yourself builder a lot of grief and needless expense, and a lot of money. They give any home buyer some assurance their new home (new to them, not necessarily brand new) the builder built a safe home, one that had no hidden hazards, and will remain safe reliably for as long as a person lives in it.

The codes give all builders a good set of rules that keep the rest of us safer from hidden hazards too. And protects everyone's investment along the way as well.
