Talking Idaho Falls Housing Market Strong

Interesting news today from television station, KIFI (LocalNews8.com Idaho Falls, Pocatello - Weather, News, Sports - Home). See the article for more info ("Eastern Idaho Holds Strong, Steady Housing Market"). While the average time to sell a house in Bonneville County (Idaho Falls/Ammon/Iona/Ucon etc) is 91 days, that is a shorter time being listed than in previous years.

Home sales remain strong, per this story. So far in 2008, 517 homes have been sold in Bonneville County. Another 181 home sales are pending. In no way were the price of the homes listed. And foreclosures are down.

It is very possible the homes selling for more than $300- 500K aren't moving as fast as those in the $100-200K range. Yet, as new companies are already opening branch offices in anticipation of Areva, I won't be surprised to see some of the high end homes sell a little faster. But, I"m not a real estate agent, so I can't say for sure. Maybe some who are licensed real estate agents could comment about this article and what they are seeing.

Check the article out and see what you think about the Idaho Falls-area real estate market. or
