First snow
For all those contemplating southeast Idaho, we are getting our first snowfall of the season, with the lovely winds along with it.
I've included a picture that I took a little bit ago and will take another one later in the day to give you an idea of an "early" snow

I got the chills when I looked at the pic. Time to really bundle up. We are just getting the cold mornings and sunny afternoons here in the Ca foothills. All the leaves are turning orange and red. My favorite time of year.
I've got the fire wood ready.

As a comparison, no snow in Boise last night, although there is a dusting starting at about tree line in the foothills/mountains.

Oh Yeah!
Hi Cleo and Izzy. I can't wait to come up and go skiing! I am selling my home in the North Bay soon...... I hope. We love to ski but have never lived in snow country. I'll have to learn how to drive in it.

Yes, you will have to learn how to drive in it. Many natives and transplants alike re-learn with the first good snowfall of the year You'd think they'd never seen it before.
One trick that I taught my husband, who next month will have been driving truck professionaly for 30 years, is that if you're driving front wheel drive on ice, you cannot have the brake on when making a turn....... you will go whichever direction the wheel was last aimed

Hello everyone. I am looking for some information. What was the date of the first snow fall in Boise, Idaho in 2006? With news references if possible!
Thank you!

Living in the Rockies
I can't remember snow in Aug. any other year. It's in the 90s within the last 10 days, then this surprise.
Even other neighboring states have had sudden changes. Salt Lake City was over 100 degrees at least 4 days last week, then it cools down 15 degrees.
Did anyone know or hear what happened with Jackson's weather?
Oh well, as they say, "That's Life in the Rockies."
