I'd just like to thank those who have served in the armed forces. My step-dad, who passed April 2013, served in the Korean War. I know forum members don't really talk about their service, but thank you. Thank you all so much.

Well said NI. Everyone please give those who served, those who were injured, and those who died on our behalf, a few moments of thought today. Bless them all.

To all those that have gone on to clear skies, take a knee, we'll stand to.

Thanks for this thread, NI--I also want to thank everyone in this forum who has served.

The generation of soldiers who saved Europe from tyranny seven decades ago is passing into history. My deep-felt thanks to every one of them, to those who lost their lives in 1944-45 and to those who made it back. Their sacrifices made the future possible for my immediate family, and their stories have been a living part of my existence ever since I was old enough to understand.
