Little house in the snow! You're way ahead of us. The stove looks wonderful. Nice tiles. Are you up there now?

Thanks! My brother finally got to move up here for good so I decided to make it up here too for a few days since my house is just about done. Have to wait for the concrete pad in front of the garage until next spring though and a few details to complete.

Hopefully I can at least get my mailbox up if the ground isn't frozen yet. I got a couple of anchors for the wooden post to try to get to work. One looks like a giant screw that you screw into the ground that you can bolt the post to and the other is a huge metal spike that is driven into the ground.

My sister in law let me put my cats into her travel trailer she had towed up here so they are safely here living in their house and garage. One big worry out of the way.

Anyone know the options for television reception in this area - maybe satellite or????????

When is the housewarming party?

I can get a few Spokane channels on an antenna. I have cable, but it is the very last house on the street to have it. Satellite works as long as you can have a clear view of that part of the sky. Dish and Direct have diff satellites. The location I had for Direct did not work for Dish.

Don't have a definite move in date yet but should be soon. My nephew will be house sitting until then.
Got the mailbox and post installed today. Boy the first several inches of the ground was frozen solid an almost bulletproof. Glad I didn't have to do this any later. LOL

Thanks. I will be looking into satellite since that may be the best option for this place.

Be glad you weren't infantry, in Alaska. Trying to dig fighting positions in the winter there was near impossible.

A very nice house indeed! I hope you enjoy it for a long long time, oldafretired. It sure looks cozy, nestled in the snow.

Don't even want to think about digging in the Alaskan winter. LOL

Thanks Banjo. I just saw these tracks in my driveway this morning. I would guess turkey tracks. I bet they lay low until this Friday.

Went up to Schweitzer today to show some out-of-town family our resort. It was raining up there, and most of the snow was gone from the lower slopes. The pathways were clear and the grass had slush on it.

But, there were people skiing on Midway since that's where they're blowing snow. And while it was a small crowd skiing (mostly younger people from what I saw) even as we left there were more people coming despite the rain.

I'm not a fan of early-season skiing like this...if we go this year we'll wait for powder days.
