I am from northern California thinking of moving to Blackfoot or Pocatello,id, I work for union Pacific railroad, most likely work in the Pocatello area but really like blackfoot how would the commute be in the winter...thanks

The commute wouldn't be bad most of the wintertime. I-15 is plowed frequently during and after snowstorms, but there are always times when the road can still have slick spots, especially in the underpasses, where the road is always in shadow.

Once a person learns how to drive confidently on the roads, only a rare snow event would cause you any concern. Confidence comes mostly from managing your vehicle's speed. The maneuvers a driver may need on black ice can be practiced in an empty parking lot.
