In Arizona if the HOA fined you and you didn't pay they had to wait till you sold your house to get your money.

I've heard in Idaho if you owe them money, say a hundred bucks, they can try and take your house.

Is that true? Can an HOA in Idaho try to take a house if the homeowner has outstanding fees or dues?

I have no idea; however, I do know in CA, after a missed payment, they can after 75 days. Might want to contact the State of Idaho's consumer affairs division.

I am not a fan of HOAs. In CA, they can take your home quicker than a bank default on your note. Some HOAs are pretty nasty as all the homeowners have to pay if one doesn't. Each state and the HOA's by-laws are different so do your homework well, and then do it again. They are only an additional layer of taxation.
