Heat cost depends on a lot of factors.
Age of home, type of construction, insulation, type and number of windows, type of heating (natural gas or electric furnace, electric cable, propane, etc)

My guess on the range in the winter would be around $150-$300/mo for 1500 sq. feet. My 3200 sq. foot house in Pocatello costs me $121 level pay on power, and between 0 and $100 in gas (just have 2 natural gas fireplaces and the rest of heat/hot water is electric) I've been told my house is pretty efficient though.

If Idaho Power is your electric utility, they have some of the lower electric rates in the nation due to all the hydropower they use. Idaho Power - Customer Service - Rates - Rate Comparer

I live close enough to Burley that I get their electric service. We pay 4.8 cents KWH which is even lower than the Idaho Power rate. Near Twin you would have Idaho Power though.

If I used my electric heat I would pay about $100 a month during the coldest weather. I get a wood cutting permit in the summer and heat my house for about $150 for the whole year. As the price of gas goes up it will cost me more to haul wood but it still beats paying for electricity.

Since I don't have gas service I don't know what it costs however my friends that have natural gas it is not cheap at all. Many of them use electric space heaters because they cost less than using their gas furnaces.

If you have an oil furnace it is better to replace it with a heat pump or electric heat. My buddy that hauls heating oil says many are paying $300 a month for heat.

I live in a 2500 sq. ft. home with gas forced air in Ammon (Idaho Falls) and my gas bill in the winter is around $150.00 in the coldest months.

I'd stay away from anything still heated by heating oil though, those people are hating it this winter. Also you may need to pay $1000 at a time or more to fill your tank, so it's harder to budget for.
