I would prefer to have little or no traffic with no traffic signals or stop signs.
Less government interference and crime
No long lines to wait in at any store or gas station.
Easy to find parking when you need to shop or go visit doctor/dentist.
Less police as I do not want to live in a police state.
Live in a rural area and not tract housing.
Have lots of peace, space and quiet with privacy
Not too far from a Costco warehouse so I can stock up if they have any in Idaho.
A 24 hr. Fitness Club.
What is sales tax in Nevada?
I know there is no state income tax which is great if you are retired.
Is Nevada a automobile friendly state with public roads in good condition?

I think you meant to post this in the Nevada forum.

Some of your parameters are in opposition to each other. You will only find a Costco and a 24hr. Fitness in larger urban centers. They need the population base to support them, so that means people, and by extension, tract housing. Go to their web sites to find their locations.

Nevada highways are good. Heck, roads are good anywhere outside California. A quick Google search shows the NV state sales tax ranges between 6.85% and 8.1%, depending on the county. And, stop putting so much emphasis on 'police state'. Outside the 'nanny state' areas, the vast reaches of the West have a strong libertarian outlook, (i.e., "Do what you want...as long as you don't infringe on my rights.").

It doesn't sound like Idaho is a good fit for you.

Lots of posts late at night--that might explain the confusion about states. NWM, you can look up Costco locations and draw a 50-mile circle around them, and start focusing on the small towns in the perimiter. Coeur d'Alene has a Costco, and fitness centers (I believe ). Costco CdA parking isn't a breeze, but we found it to be easier than in SoCal. So look for rural properties outside of any small town within 50 miles of CdA.

Because you inquired about Nevada in your own post?

Yes I have been on the computer all night long.
Never heard of Coeur d'Alene. I will have to look that up but that is the general idea to be about 50 miles away is acceptable.

If 50 miles or less is your priority, then there are a lot of places you can consider outside CDA.
