Snowing hard in Boise again today. I would guess we've had as much snow fall this winter so far as we have in the last 10 years combined. I love it!
Not really Idaho related, but my aunt in Park City, Utah says they have more snow than they ever have before in the 27 years she's lived there. They have 7-9 feet on the flats (their monkey bars have disappeared) and the sides of their driveway are between 12-14 feet high. In addition, they are expected to get up to an additional 2 feet with each storm that moves through, and they are supposed to get something like 6-8 storms over the next 2 weeks.

You love it? Well you can probably get out of your house, my children and I are getting stir crazy. I am amazed the electricity is still on, went out a few times, they must have fixed it good last year when it was out for three days, or people are not running into poles as usual lol.

Yeah, I can get out of my house. I have to go to work every day and shovel 5000+ sq ft of parking lot plus 250 ft of sidewalk, by hand. Takes about 2 hours. Most years, I shovel maybe twice the whole winter, this year, I've shoveled 7 or 8 times so far, and need to hit it again today. Even with that, I Still Love It! My philosophy is, its going to be cold in the winter, and if I have to suffer the cold, I want the reward of snow to go with it.
Of course, I also only drive about 2 miles to work, so I spend minimal time on the roads. Honestly, I don't really mind driving in the snow... its the other drivers who scare me. If I'm driving 20, its because the roads are slick, so when people pass me going 40 or drive 10 feet from my bumper, that is a wee bit worrysome.
I understand power has been out around town in a few places off and on, but the power company is really good (usually) about getting it back up quick. You had power out for 3 days last year? I don't think mine was ever out for more than 2 hours, and that was from a windstorm, rather than snow. I haven't even had a flicker so far in my power this month, at home or at work. Guess I've been lucky.

Guess we all need to invest in a generator or atleast a wood stove. After I wrote that I was thinking it could always be worse.

And not to hurt your feelings 8 SNAKE
But after seeing all the ice storms pics from a prior member MoMark , Idaho's weather started to look like 'paradise' to me . And if my memory serves me WRITE (lol), MO got hit with some pretty awful weather last year , and not just in the winter, but in the summer too .
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong !
