No. Most of Idaho county is wilderness. It's so wild, rocky and remote it's doubtful it will ever be be populated much more than it is now.
Ironically that also a part of the reason why the county is so large. So few people live in the area that it doesn't take much governance. Idaho is the county that mostly is made of all the territory the surrounding counties didn't want.

No big lakes or uber picturesque mountains to draw them into this area.

well that is good to know, looks like idaho county went higher up on my list for places to look at. As i only care about views when i can see my neighbors. and personally, i consider the views in idaho county very rough and rugged, which IMO is a good thing. Whats the economy like there? according to wiki its about 30k per family, but in a county of 16k i can doubt theres many jobs, and online web posts dont got much. Do people commute multible hours to boise or something?

The economy is bad on the Camas Prairie. Come with a job in hand.

Lots of people commute to Lewiston.

Boise is three or four hours away.

Yeah, you're not going to be able to just move to Idaho County and expect a job. You might find something in a grocery store or whatever for $8/hr. Better to have a job in hand or make your own.

If you need to find work, you're better off focusing on the towns of ~20,000 people or more.

I can't re-emphasize what Vandals ( and others) have written enough.

If moving to Idaho, have employment secured prior to your move, or bring your current job or company with you. If you think you can find a job in Idaho, it really depends on your skill set and what employers are hiring. Research the employers in the state. I don't know that anyone here can list everything about every county. The small towns and counties have few jobs and probably residents who can fill most of them. Here's a link you can search based on skills, areas of the state or others. I know Cynrat posted a closely related link early in this thread.

Well, f5, there are not many zoos in Idaho. My understanding is there is little turnover in zoo staff in the state.

However, I did see a hiring fair for Popeye's and a Black Bear Cafe ( or something like that) for Pocatello. Maybe one of those needs your qualifications and experience ROFL

Yea, working for the Federal government is sometimes compared to a zoo.

Does Popeye's pay you and give you food?

I'm upset that the north end Little Sleezers is closing in the Kmart.

Isn't this a really old thread??????
