You have my full attention. I am so jealous! Sounds like you have a GREAT place. If I could be so lucky. I live in a very small town and these locals are so hateful. Florida has too many people, too many opinions, nobody seems to enjoy the good things. Thanks again for the info..

I would strongly suggest planning a visit to check the area out and make sure it's what you're looking for. It's quite a trip to make to end up finding out that it's not what you thought it'd be. Let me know if I can be of any help.

How has the inversion layer been this winter? I will be planning a trip out in the near future for a look around. I have to check my work schedule before in make arrangements, and plans. Thank you for the post.

It hasn't been that bad but this has only been my first year here in the area so I don't have much to compare to. There have only been two occasions (that I experienced) where you could actually see it.

Planning on a visit in May. How far from Salmon to get some good Whitetail and Elk hunting. What about various fishing opportunities. Can you suggest a realtor. Been watching the Boonies on t.v. and freaked me out ,the guy in Idaho (bear claw) has the same name as me and same job and age. That's a sign! Thanks ya'll! Yes I am in north Florida.

Just go drown a worm in the nearest water and talk to the locals about hunting. Throw a rock hard and hit a deer in Salmon.

Check in with the Idaho Fish and game offices in Salmon. For visitor Fishing & Elk licences.

I think everyone covered a lot of the basics but if you need more info let me know, I lived there before moving to northern Idaho, and if fishing and hunting is what you want to do then its your place, the inversion never bothered me but then I don;t have breathing issues but the smoke is rough in the summer when the fires start, I mean it can get rough but they do not have bad fires every year sometimes it is pretty light but it is every year. You can live only 2 miles from town and feel like you are in the middle of nowhere or you can choose to live 10 miles out and as far as 40 depending on your preference.

And mtngirlatheart, I would trade you in a heartbeat to be back in Salmon again living, I miss it after 4 years I still want to be there instead of north Idaho, and it is no offense but it just has my heart and my grandson
