Default Wallace info?

After watching dantes peak and image searching, I have to say Wallace is very beautiful.

I noticed the towns population is around 1,000 and it really isnt near anything.

What do people do for a living and whats the cost of living? Are the summers incredibly short?

A lot of people in Wallace end up working in CDA Idaho. IMO don't even bother. Of course there is Dave Smith, in Kellogg you could drive a short drive and sale Cars. The Silver Valley, as we call it, has very little to offer at this time.
I grewup in the Silver Valley. It is slowly showing SOME growth. The movie that you speak of, was filmed awhial ago. You might want to take a trip and see it in person. IMO.... Wallace is really a dump. But thats just me.

I think Wallace is a neat little town. There isn't any employment, though. I think most folks there are retirees, independently wealthy, or brought enough cash to start a trinket store.

But yes, you can try to get a job at Dave Smith's. The cost of living is so low that you could probably do well on the salary.

I'd look more into CdA and visit Wallace on the weekends.

Wallace a dump? Holy smokes Wallace is a beautiful relic, a well preserved museum of an old silver mining town. The folks there are very friendly too.

Yes, a dump. That is just my opion.I've never been a fan of Wallace.
The freeway that cut into the mountain, made it really ugly. Doesn't seem, they tryed, to blend it in with historic look at all. There was a time with the town was beautiful. I just don't see it now. I did a lot of growing up in the Silver Valley. The people there can be friendly... your right about that. People from the Silver Valley, are the best group of people, you may ever meet. To me it just seems cold, even in the summer.

Some pics I took on my trip to Burke (ghost town a few miles northeast of Wallace). Sorry for aweful quality, I was shooting them aimlessly while driving through town. Somehow the thought of cleaning windows never crossed my mind...
