sactown11, this in the naples area, highland flats to be exact. naples is about 20 miles north of sandpoint. we have already built a horse barn/shop and a guest house that we will live in while we build or home. our goal is to build several more cabins to rent out to hunters, horseback riders, snowmobilers, and such. great area but no lodging right in that area.

Hi Flatlander Dave!

Where do you guys visit from if you don't mind me asking?

It is becoming very populated! When my mom & I moved there in 1987 there were hardly any houses along the lake road (from Harrison to CDA) & now when I go back there is hardly any spaces that do not have houses. What a change! And back in the day you could buy a house for 30k, now I would be afraid to see what it has become.

guerita, we are from northern indiana. we are moving next summer after school is out. can't wait to get there. the boom in real estate has created a catch 22. we are having a hard time finding contractors who will work for a reasonable wage. everything cost soooo much more than the midwest.

My Aunt and Uncle moved to Salmon about six months ago and they love it there. Thanks for the beautiful pics of the area.
