Default This is what America used to be

This part of Idaho is a low crime rate part of the country, I live 24 miles from Lewiston east in Kendrick. Once I left my wallet on the park bench, it was returned to me with my cash intact. This is a place where everyone waves to everyone pretty much, it's a little bit countrified, you can get your cat spayed at the Lewiston shelter for $55.00 and that includes all the shots as well, what a deal, neuter the him cat same deal for $35.00 and the regular Lewiston veterinarian is reasonable too. Plus just across the river you have Clarkston, Washington with the big Costco warehouse store, the schools are good here, people are warm and neighborly. There is a wonderful paved trail along the Snake River in Lewiston where you can hike or ride your bike for exercise, The Red Lion has a beautiful buffet every Sunday for anyone at a reasonable price;
There is plenty of dining out in Lewiston, a Red lobster, a Shari's, an Old Country Buffet and there is a Home Depot, a Safeway , an Albertson's and lots of shops including the Lewiston Center Mall and of course Chinese buffet and the Panda Express for take out but if you want first class Chinese food nothing beats the China Inn restaurant. Yiou will slowly grow to love the atmosphere of this part of the country where veterans are still honored.
There is a Mardi Gras type celebration annually with all that that involves for fun , crash derby's are quite popular here and the Clearwater River Casino for gambling is located at the nearby Nez Perce Indian Reservation, and the Indians are our largest minority here and they offer great cultural contact with their celebrations, Pow wows and indian bead crafts.
If you come here it can't just be Lewiston you want to see since we have such pristine wilderness areas near here for hunting , camping and fishing, Bovill has a nice RV park owned by the city that you can hook up your motor home or camper for a few dollars a day or about $60.00 a week while you go out to gold pan or go fishing, we have real wolves and bears here so it is best to camp in a trailer or a motor home, it is not unusual to watch an eagle or a red tailed hawk carry their salmon breakfast in the cage of their claws home from the river, and delightful river otters play often in the clean unpolluted rivers of Idaho. It is delightful actually.
Beavers still dam up our rivers occasionally so if you like to photograph wildlife or hunt this is the part of the country where you want to be.
The hunting is fair, for elk and deer here.
come Rv-ing here and get to know the atmosphere but I guarantee you will love it here. Idaho is lovely!

Thumbs up you r lucky u found an honest person --almost unheard of !

Getting your wallet back is almost a challenge any where, but getting the cast back as well... all I can say is: "WOW !"

As for the area...the wilderness sounds super wonderful that you are so close to all of the things such as camping, hunting, fishing, etc..

AND

still be close for choice shopping as well...

we are hoping to move to just such an area, if we can afford it.

I'm dreaming...

Best wishes

Dee

When I lived in San Diego about ten years back I lost my wallet with over 700 bucks in it.
Right after I noticed it missing I retraced my steps and found two big tattooed long haired biker looking guys standing in the parking lot where it had fallen out of my pocket.
One guy held it up and said, "I bet you're looking for this". Every cent was still there and I gave them $20.00 each as a reward. I'll never forget those dudes, They were late getting back to work because of waiting for me to return for the wallet.

Red face Still leave my doors unlocked most of the time...

I've lived in Idaho Falls all my life and even though I've watched it grow beyond my wildest imagination I still leave my doors unlocked mostly during the days... Some may think I'm crazy but I've never had a problem in 30 years.

For better or wose, it seems to be human nature to glorify the past, fear the future, and complain about the present.

I've read quite a few of your posts. You seem like the kind of person who sees people in a positive light. Regarding people, you're broadcasting such a positive vibe that you could probably walk thru a prison yard populated with murderers and rapists without getting so much as a scratch on ya.
