Smile To OnOurWay2Mo...

Thanks for the post...I will be looking for a single residence, out of town a ways, good-sized lot or even an acre or so...must have lots of trees. Probably will spend about $200K. Other than that I will probably be open to "luck" and whatever the fates send my way. I am going on an excursion in August to look around more carefully, so maybe I will answer my own questions at that time. Much depends on what the RE market does both there and here in AZ.

Your welcome If you want out of town a ways and lots of trees you would probably like Athol or Spirit Lake. You should have no problem with $200K up here for what you are looking for.
You mentioned you may look into being a substitute teacher... There is an elementary school in Athol and an elementary and high school in Spirit Lake. It is concidered the Lakeland school district. Good luck with everything and feel free to ask if you have any questions!

I have done a lot of investigating into the school systems up there and it seems sub teachers are in demand. I will not want full time work but would like to keep my fingers and toes into something in my "later years". Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. By the way, I was amazed that there is a large theme park near Athol! Who knew? Always learning something, eh?

Yeah, good ole Silverwood! Had my first job there lol. It's growing, but not a major theme park like Six Flags. It is located in Athol right off Hwy 95, one thing you may want to concider as the traffic can be bad through there during the summer.

Wonderful theme park though. We love taking the kids there when it's hot (to the water park side). Weird to ride the "corkscrew" (which they acquired from Knotts) and the "Dumbo ride" (from Disneyland)....but it's clean, nice, and people can still leave belongings in strollers or planters without having them sprout legs...

I would still be cautious. My son accidently knocked my purse out of our wagon while on the train ride and it was taken, later returned lacking my $60, guess they figured they needed a tip for returning my purse.

Absolutely. I'm not saying to leave valuables laying around...but at Disneyland we used to never leave ANYTHING worth over $1 unguarded...and at Silverwood, there's still a more easygoing atmosphere that people won't generally mess with your stuff...as evidenced by all the stuff left laying around the waterpark lounge chairs, etc.

Moon Waffle is on a distinguished road
Silverwood is a great theme park. One of the best in the country, hands down.

Check out the Silverwood site below:
