Well, my lights aren't up yet. Tried explaining to my husband a few weeks ago since the weather was decent then, it would be a good time to put them up, he didn't I informed him that I don't care if we're int he middle of a blizzard with hurricane force winds, he will get them up next time he's home!

My one good friend has her's up and once again they look grand. If I remember the next time I'm over that way I'll take a pic. Would ahve done it tonight, but all you would have seen was snow!

To answer your question, nope not ready for Christmas. Need to get ready for MIL's visit next week and then worry about shopping LOL

No lites, just the deer in the lawn that have some movement. Some lighted candy canes and a smallish santa and snow man. My youngest and I put up the tree, we got a live one this yr and a few things in the house but that is all that I will do.

I was born on the 29 of Dec and two of my kids have b-days in Dec the 2nd and 9th. I was married on x-mas day five yrs ago this yr in the hope to change the feeling of x-mas but it never changes. This yr is one of the worst so far. I am minus two kids, for some very bad reasons. I had to give my horses away two weeks ago thanks to a psycho here in Buhl, and there are many more things that always seem to happen during the holidays for me. It really isn't a holy day for me at all!

But I do what I can for my youngest and he is happy about the tree and ornaments. He got to pick out most of it and he helped put it all up. We gave my oldest son a lil truck for and early x-mas gift and that made him happy.

We have snow and ice and it is -5 right now. My husband is in Davenport Iowa right now in the middle of that ice storm so he can't win for loosing. The co he drives for did a manditory shut down due to the ice and he is going nuts just sitting there. I am glad that I am in a home at least!

myarabs, I thought you were moving to Texas awhile back. I sure hope your December gets better. We all have had bad holidays (My 16 yr old son, mom and dad all died within 5 years) but you HAVE to be strong and have the love of your family help you though. Mine are getting alittle better but it will never be the same but for your other kids try your best to enjoy the holiday .

fun in the sun...my heart goes out to you. But your life makes me count how blessed my life is. I'm counting my blessings and hope your holiday goes well.

myarabs...hang in there...your son will follow your lead on this holiday season. I can remember my oldest son couldn't be home one year and we decided to skip xmas and keep it low keyed. My youngest son, who was 17 at that time was very upset. So we had our holiday and put on a happy face. May god bless you and yours.

Izzy, thank you for your kind words. Friends like you and cleosmom help life seem better. I no longer take life for granted and feel blessed everyday. You definitely see through different eyes once you have tragedy in your life.

Talk to you later, have a good night.

fun in the sun...Our move fell through and we ended up moving only 12 miles away, into the town of Buhl. A person who I thought was a friend helped me to get my horses into a pasture and after two weeks of them being there she went nuts on me saying that I was over feeding and trying to kill her horses. I have no idea where that came from and I had no place to put my horses and not enough time to find a place either. So I had to give my mares back to the woman I was buying them from and I gave my dream horse away to a very nice trainer in King Hill. Like I said before this is the first time in my life that I have not had a horse and they were always the ones that I could count on to not judge me when I needed someone to cry on.

I am not worried about my son, he is a teenager and doing things that I was never allowed to do. I have always told him to be a kid first cuz I will be here when he is done.

I am so very sorry for your losses, it must be very hard to have to go through that. I have never been close to any of my family, for reasons to long to explain, so I wouldn't know what it would feel like to loose ppl I loved in such a way. My daughters were in a way taken by their father's with lies about me and my husband that I gave up trying to defend. So it is real real hard to know that they are alive and believing in a lie. Hopefully one day they will see the light but I am afraid that it will be too late.

Izzy...Don't worry we are doing fine with the x-mas thing. Today was my youngest's 8th b-day but we celebrated it last week before his dad and brother had to leave. I felt bad that he wasn't going to have a special day today so I went a head and took him to the store and let him pick out a special b-day gift and another cake. He has been a blast all day playing with his Peterbuilt double dump truck, he is a truck and train addict. Plus we had to put up our old x-mas tree after our new live one decided to break the base and dry out in just a week. So he had tons of fun helping me put the fake tree up and redecorating it.

So I'm not that big of a humbug, I just miss being able to go out and hug on my horses and cry in their warm coats. It really is some thing that is hard for non horse ppl to understand, but if you are a pet person you will get it.

I'm a pet person and grew up around horses. My sister has always had horses. Us we have dogs and cats. Because I don't know if our next home will have land or not. So I'm waiting. Then we may get our little ones a couple of welsh ponies. Something big enough they can ride till their about 12 years old. But I don't know if we will end up in a place like emmetts on land or in a track home.

I'm glad to hear you're doing xmas with your son. It could be a very special time for the two of you. My oldest boys always remember the road trips I took with just one of them at a time. I would give them a map and say...which way do you want to go. We would stay gone the whole weekend. They still talk about those trips and they are in their 30's. One on one can be a very special time.

I know what you mean about having pets and being down and they seem to understand and cuttle right into you and let you have a good cry. My dogs have always been such good listeners.

Well got to go... and will be thinking about both of you during these holidays. Will check back soon.

Izzy

Unhappy Saying Goodbye

my3arabs,
I can understand your pain and loss of your horses. About 4 years ago I had to give away my 4 horses and a pony. They were all rescue horses and one day while at work I realized my summers are short for riding the winters are long here and both of my sons started hating horses because of all the fence repair and baling hay and all the other work that goes with horse raising.
I came home made 2 phone calls and when my husband came home I told him the horses would be gone by weeks end. They all got great homes one horse we had ended up back with his first owner we didn't even know her I had called the lady we got him from and she couldn't take him back so she called the first owner and they couldn't get here fast enough they were so excited to get him back. One horse who was going to auction and she was suppose to be a horse but, I believe she was POA I sold her for $200.00 and now she has been to the jumping nationals in Kentucky. It was the saddest week of my life they were all just large dogs at least thats what one lady said that came out and got one of the horses I just didn't have much riding time but, they were groomed and would follow me anywhere. I know how your heart gets attached to them.
But, I also, realized how expensive they were and when raising children they both always seem to need shoes. Your pain will lessen and I wish you all the best.
