I have to agree Skitow. I find everyone on the ID forum to be extremely friendly and helpful. When we made our trip there a few weeks ago, I had PM's from forum members, inviting us to their homes, and helping with routes to take, and areas to look at etc. I have found this forum to be very helpful and positive unlike some members on another forum.....(MT)

Address Oh you mean username? LOL.
My old username was John65Vette, but since I am going to sell my Vette to help pay off debt and get in a better position to move, I figure, what the heck, I'll change my username.

I use the name to remind me that no matter how beautiful a place is, if you don't have money, and/or a job, you're not going to make it.

Norco is the city I live in. It is a horse town. There is a higher population of horses than people here, or at least there used to be.
In fact a sign off of the freeway says "Welcome to Norco" Horse town USA, or Horse Capital of the USA, or something to that affect

Kookiefornia, should be self explantory

Default We made it!

Well, we have finally made it here to Meridian. It took a year, but so far, I think it was worth it. We arrived over two weeks ago and no one has flipped me off, cussed at me or in any other way been cruel in spite of openly admitting I'm from CA and still have those CA plates on my vehicles.
I will need to be here awhile longer before I can truly assess the overall attitude of the folks here, but so far so good. My daughter starts school next week and I told her to be proud of where we are from, we should not be ashamed. I'll let you know how that goes.
Dang, if I moved to Caldwell I'd change my name to "Caldwell Carl" Anyhow, we have a lot of nice folks around us. Our neighbor brought us a great dinner on our third night here and I look forward to reciprocating soon.
Always remember, a wise man once said, "No matter where you go, there you are".
Best wishes, TTFN CA Carl

Glad you made it Carl. Congrats on escaping kookiefornia.

I heard a song lyric by Clint Black with something similar:

"Wherever you go, there you are"

Please make sure that you do. I would welcome all new neighbors with a welcome gift. Then home baked goods like fudge, sugar cookies, shortbread cookies etc. at Christmas only to have them not say hello to us. Literally turn their backs to us and walk away when they would see us outside. I find that highly offensive. We have to live next to each other and need to have a relationship with them. For the reasons that if we go out of town they will watch our house, our children etc. They wanted nothing to do with us period. So whatever! The same ignoring neighbor even went to another neighbor to complain about our sprinklers and they the other neighbor told us we had a problem with them. We did not know they came on at 11:30 at night. They could not even tell us. That is bull.....

California Carl!!!! You're in Idaho!!! I'm so happy your move went well! I am practically on your heels, with on 35 more days left in San Diego...then I'm in Poky!!! So everyone is welcoming? Or what? Like, when they ask you where you're from are they more like "OH! California?!?!" or "ooooohhhh California?"

Hi Kitty, yup, we made it safely. I really like it here so far. We went to the fair tonight and saw REO Speedwagon. ( an old 70-80's group) It was a good show and everyone behaved.
So far, I have not experienced any negative stuff about being from CA and I've made it pretty clear where I'm from. I think that it might matter a little where you move too, but around Boise, they are O.K. Good luck with your move.
TTFN C.C.
