The chains that are here are Albertson's, Smith's, Fred Meyer, Super Walmart and Winco. The latter being a warehouse type store, non membership needed.

From folks I've known in the past they liked the benefits that Albertson's had/have.

You're welcome. If it means anything at all, both Smith's and Fred Meyer are owned by Kroger's.

Broulim's is a local "chain" and located as far as I know up in Rigby & Rexburg and most likely St. Anthony. Otherwise that's all I know of them.

Broulim's is a great store! There are 4 of them that I know of: Rigby, Rexburg, St. Anthony, and Driggs. As far as working there goes I know a lot of people who have been very happy with Broulim's as an employer. They don't pay tons, but if you are moving to any of those four towns, good luck finding a GREAT paying job anyway.

The Driggs Broulim's hired a Madison County Sheriff probation officer who got into some trouble to give him a second chance. So in my opinion they are a great store.

I worked for Broulim's briefly (a few months) in college. The store I worked at was in Rexburg. They treated you well enough; but they did not know how to communicate. I was fired twice for not showing up to work on time. Both times I arrived when I was listed on the schedule. Little did I know

"When it says 11:30; that means you're supposed to be here at 8:30. It's a typo."
"Sorry, no one told me."
"Well, they should have. I'll fix it THIS time..."

Good grief. They don't pay well. The Rexburg store always made sure you knew that there were thousands of college students who could take your job and not complain. They still treat you with respect and it is a nice work environment other than those complaints.

I shop at WinCo, prices more in line with larger cities I've lived in.

I don't know how they are to work for, but the Broulims's I've known were really, really nice people. I used to live fairly close to one of the sons and his wife and they were a wonderful family.

Winco rocks and is competitive with WalMart price wise, but I think has higher quality produce and meat, and you don't have to go to WalMart... Whoever has been to the Pocatello/Chubbuck WalMart knows what I'm talking about. I find the WalMarts in IF much better, though I only go to one once a year or so.

Winco is a little less service oriented, you bag your own groceries so it's not for everyone, but I don't mind. They make up for it with lower prices.
