Default Moving boxes/Packing material

I found decent size boxes for $1/each on Craigs List. That's helpful.

But I've been buying wrapping paper and bubble wrap and some specialty packing materials from UHaul and that is starting to get pretty darn expensive.

Does anyone know of 'affordable' moving/packing materials available in the Boise area??

TIA

Check the grocery stores early in the day and ask if they can save some before crushing them. Apple boxes are great for packing glasses in.

Don't forget to ask the pet stores as well. I know that we get treats, toys, shampoos, leashes etc. etc all shipping in sturdy boxes.

I use the plastic bags from the grocery stores to wrap my fragile things. Ask friends for their stashes and you will get lots.

You can go to your Newspaper and buy roll ends cheep. Perfect for wrapping fragile things.

I go to the liquor store on delivery day and get their boxes. If you start to ask around your local stores to save them for you.Be sure to recycle when you are done. We take ours to the Lions Recycle here.

Check at thrift stores in the back and ask if you can have their boxes. They usually have more than they use and will give them to you.

We have moved 10 times in 23 years this move will be #11 and I have never bought a box.

One thing to do right now!!! Pack a move in day box or two and label them as such and be sure to keep them close. Add one change of clothes for each member. Toiletries slippers jammies. Then the goodies. Candy bars or goodies of choice. Coffee cups for hot drinks ,or tea or chocolate Koolaid whatever. Towels washcloths. Just try to think of everything you will use in a day for your family and add just one or two and then some feel good things.Favorite toy for kids and food and water dishes for pets. Better to do it now before the big push. Then you will always know in the back of your mind that first night wil be comfortable for you and family. Something to look forward too.

Good luck. Stay strong and keep looking towards the day the move is DONE. My mantra right now.

Chris
