Hi everyone,
I have been reading all of the North Idaho forums here and am very excited about a potential move to your area!
Heather, it is wonderful to hear you have had a great first year! I don't speak much French anymore but I did take Canadian French all through school. It is amazing how much you forget though when you don't use it. I would like my children to learn French at some point.
I am a Canadian married to an American and we have 4 young children (ages 1-9). My husband grew up in Alaska and had also lived in California, Illinois and Colorado prior to my meeting him. I am a physical therapist who was recruited to Florida in the mid-nineties. Over the course of our 12 years of marriage we have lived in FL, NJ, CA, NV and we have been in Boise, ID for the last few weeks checking it out.
I think Boise is a decent town but we still feel drawn more to North Idaho even though we've never been there. I would like to have a smaller town feel, be closer to the Canadian border, and be able to find a little piece of property and build our own little home sometime in the next few years. We would like a place with 4 seasons to raise our family and outdoor recreation and NID seems to have it all! We have been through a lot over the last few years, running a business in the hustle and bustle of San Diego and a lot of stress. We are looking for a quieter, simpler kind of life.
We love meeting new people and would like to contribute to a new community in a positive way and find our niche.
Thanks for having me on this forum!
Kirsten
I am job hunting up there right now. I think I'll be able to find a PT job. My husband had his own business in custom electronics (home theaters, smart homes, audio systems) in So Cal but it went down with the economy. His whole industry seems to have gone down with the economy actually so he will probably be home with the kids for now and we'll see if it picks back up at some point.
